Biography
Judy R. Balombin is JRB Mediations. She is a Qualified Mediator, with over 6 years of experience, providing interest based mediation and coaching services. Judy is a full time Mediator with the Alberta Energy Regulator, where she provides Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services for oil and gas development disputes between companies, and between companies and landowners. She also provides mediation services, through JRB Mediations, for family, separation and divorce disputes, employment/workplace conflicts, business/ corporate issues, civil claims issues (real estate, land development, contracts, condominium disputes, etc.) and more; as well as professional coaching services.
Judy is a member of the National Energy Board’s mediator roster, and provides ADR services to the Strathcona County Community Mediation (SCCM) Society. In addition, she provided, for over two years, mediation services to the Alberta Provincial Courts Civil Claims mediation roster program, and mediation support to the Mediation Restorative Justice Centre.
Judy has over 550 hours of required ADR training (mediation [interest based], conflict communication, reframing, mediation of family and divorce conflicts, negotiation, arbitration, forensic interviewing, emotions in mediation, high conflict mediation) and 128 hours of in-depth applied professional coaching training. She is a member of the ADR Institute of Alberta and Canada, and is an alumni of Erickson College (professional coaching). Judy has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce Degrees, and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Communications.
Judy’s natural calm demeanor and excellent communication skills help parties tell their stories, be heard and understood, discuss and explore issues and interests, and assists them with finding mutually agreed upon resolution(s).
