Judith Lake
BCom, CMed
Judith is a nationally chartered mediator (C.Med.) with a Business degree from the University of Alberta and has over 20 years’ experience mediating and training in the areas of workplace, separation and divorce, civil claims and restorative justice. She is a partner at The Resolution Group Ltd, providing conflict resolution services and training, and a roster mediator with Alberta Justice Resolution Services, mediating for their Family and Civil Claims programs.
Judith is an ADR instructor at the University of Alberta’s School of Business and at the ADR Institute of Alberta where she co-authored and instructs their Separation & Divorce Mediation program. She loves to mentor new mediators and coach mediation students, privately and through ADRIA, helping them hone their skills, prepare for assessments and become ethical, effective practitioners.
Judith began her mediation career with the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre, starting as a volunteer mediator with the Victim/Offender Mediation Program before becoming Co-chair and then Executive Director of the Centre. She then branched into workplace and family mediation and is now on the Alberta Board of the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts.
Prior to working in mediation, Judith spent ten years in the Human Resource field, including grievance administration, giving her a strong foundation for workplace mediation, team optimization and conflict resolution training.
