Biography
I have been a practicing lawyer in Alberta since 1979. The focus of my practice over the past couple of decades has been negotiation and resolution of compensation owed to landowners whose rights have been impacted by governments through expropriation and other entities through regulatory changes or surface disruptions. I have acted for home owners to farmers to First Nations to commercial retailers to manufacturers and everything in between. The practice has called upon me to become intimately familiar with the financial, commercial and physical plant details of my clients and I have analyzed countless appraisals and financial statements in that effort. I can bring that experience and those analytical skills to an arbitration to efficiently and cost effectively determine an appropriate resolution. In mediations it allows me to provide valuable insight to each of the parties in respect of both theirs and their opponent’s positions.
ADR Training & Qualifications
I have attended the Harvard advanced negotiations and mediation courses as well as courses through the BC Institute of Justice and ADRIA/ADRIC.
