Biography
I practiced law in Alberta between 1978 and 2025. Much of that practice focussed on ownership rights issues. In hundreds of cases I resolved the issue of compensation owed to landowners and rights holders whose rights have been impacted by governments through expropriation, regulatory changes or surface disruptions. I acted for home owners to farmers to First Nations to commercial retailers to manufacturers and everything in between. The practice called upon me to become intimately familiar with the financial, commercial and physical plant details of my clients. I analyzed countless appraisals and financial statements in that effort. I can bring that experience and those analytical skills to an arbitration to efficiently and cost effectively determine an appropriate resolution. In mediations it allows me to provide valuable insight to each of the parties in respect of both theirs and their opponent’s positions.
