Biography
Anita Veldhuisen Slomp is a Qualified Mediator with a Certificate in Conflict Leadership and a restorative justice facilitator with over 250 hours of conflict resolution training. She is a Conflict Resolution Practitioner with the Department of National Defense, mediates in community mediation programs, as well as the Civil Claims department of Alberta Justice. Prior to its close, Anita mediated and delivered training with the Parent Teen Mediation program at Catholic Social Services. She coaches and instructs in a variety of training settings for alternative dispute resolution, including the ADR Institute of Alberta and the University of Alberta, School of Business, and is involved with training on the topics of restorative practices and conflict resolution. Anita works with community groups including churches through conflict situations, change, and in improving understanding, using Restorative Practices. Anita is passionate about empowerment through information and skills for individuals involved in conflict.
Anita studied at The King’s University College as well as Grant MacEwan University College, prior to training in conflict resolution.
