Reforming the Family Justice System, and Innovations at Queen's Bench
Diana Lowe, QC is the Executive Counsel to the Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta. For a number of years, she has been Co-Lead of the Reforming the Family Justice System (RFJS) initiative, which is designed to re-imagine the family justice system in Alberta.
Collaborators recognize that “family justice issues are primarily social, relationship and financial, that contain a legal element”. They are working together to ensure families receive the supports they need to assist them with all of these concerns, with the goal that “families (parents and children) will thrive, even while undergoing changes to their structure”.
Diana will be speaking aboutReforming the Family Justice System, and Innovations at Queen's Bench. There are many innovations underway in the Court of Queen's Bench and in the family justice system, which focus on improving outcomes for Albertans. Diana will share insight into the shift that is well underway in the family justice system in Alberta, and invite you to consider how your work can contribute to better outcomes by aligning with this work. She will also touch on initiatives of the Court that are designed to improve outcomes for Albertans.
