The source of Alternative Dispute Resolution information, resources and expertise in Alberta › Forums › Communications in ADR – Online, Oct/Nov 2025 › Jaemi (Instructor) Introduction
Hello and welcome, everyone!
My name is Jaemi Bertrand (she/her) and I am your instructor for Communications in ADR.
I am excited to explore the content of the course with you and look forward to your thoughts, ideas and comments on the topics to be covered!
As an introduction, I wanted to share a bit of my background. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of Alberta, I pursued training in Conflict Management here at ADRIA. I hold certificates in Conflict Leadership, Attuned Communication in Dispute Resolution, Integrative Negotiation, and Facilitative Mediation. I am now a Chartered Mediator and the focus of my practice is workplace and community based conflict, where I mediate and coach individuals and groups. I serve on the Alberta Court of Justice (Civil Claims) and Edmonton Police Service mediation rosters, and I teach conflict resolution courses here at ADRIA, at the University of Alberta in the School of Business in both the undergrad and the MBA programs, and at NAIT.
My goal is to help take the fear out of conflict by channelling its energy into understanding and growth. I am passionate about helping people find peace in their lives and empowering them as they navigate through resolving and learning about conflict!
Through my work as a mediator, I am witness to conflict every day and I am confident that what you learn in this course will give you some tools to aid you as you navigate through it yourselves!
I look forward to meeting you!
