Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Brent Mielke. I am a practicing corporate / commercial litigator and a partner with MLT Aikins LLP in its Edmonton office. I was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1989 and have been actively practicing since then with a broad range of experience in corporate and commercial litigation, construction & lien litigation, creditor’s rights, shareholder disputes, landlord & tenant issues and, when I was much younger, some family law and criminal law as well. I routinely appear in Court at all levels within Alberta but really prefer to work collaboratively with clients and with opposing counsel to look for creative solutions to problems, especially solutions that result in a win for both sides.

I have been involved in all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution including Judicial Dispute Resolutions, Arbitrations and Mediations throughout my career and see real value to each of these, especially with the costs, time, stress associated with in the Court system.
