Who Should Take This Course?
Dive into the intricacies of mediation excellence with our specialized course designed for individuals preparing for Supervised Mock Mediation. This program is curated to foster practical skills and strategic understanding, ensuring participants are well-equipped for the challenges of real-world mediation scenarios.
To enroll in this course, participants must demonstrate a history of engagement in practice sessions, whether under guidance or self-directed. This prerequisite underscores our commitment to assembling a cohort of dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of practical experience to the learning environment.
What Will I Learn and What Skills Will I Gain?
Each participant will actively engage in two mediation sessions, providing a dynamic platform to apply and refine learned skills in a real-world context. Additionally, participants will delve into four role-playing scenarios, enriching their experience and enhancing adaptability to the multifaceted challenges of mediation.
Each group will have a coach that will provide feedback on skill integration. The coaches will not be doing skill drills, or completing role-play evaluation forms. The focus on these sessions is role-play practice with verbal feedback from the coaches.
What Can I Expect in Class?
This course consists of four online afternoon sessions. Some sessions are 4 hours and others are 5 hours, beginning at 1:00pm- carrying on to 4:00pm or 5:00pm.
A package of role-plays and the role-play schedule will be posted on a private student page prior to the class. Students are expected to be prepared for their roles before each class and encouraged to share their goals with their coach so feedback can be provided accordingly.
What Are the Pre-Requisites?
Registration is only open to those who have completed mediation training, and have gone on to further practice groups. This course is tailored for those beyond the foundational stages of mediation training. It is not suitable for students who have recently completed basic mediation training.
