Lisa DeSousa is an accomplished regulatory investigator, having spent more than a decade conducting and overseeing regulatory investigations related to professional misconduct. She is experienced in investigating all forms of professional misconduct, including sexual abuse, drug diversion, harassment, and competency issues.
Lisa’s holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. Her nursing experience, specifically as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for 10 years, has provided her with extensive expertise in interviews and evidence collection. Lisa has served as a Deputy Complaints Director with CRNA and is currrently Director of Regulatory Investigations with Veritas Solutions Inc. In addition to undertaking clinically complex investigations, Lisa provides investigation oversight and quality assurance to Veritas’ team of regulatory investigators.
Lisa is dedicated to continuous learning and has extensive training in Forensic Studies, Advanced Workplace Investigations, Trauma Informed Sexual Assault Investigations, and Trauma Informed Interviewing. She is certified by the Council of Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR) in the National Certified Investigator/Inspector Training (NCIT) – Specialized program and is also a CLEAR NCIT instructor, providing training for hundreds of regulatory investigators across various professions throughout Canada. Lisa is also currently working towards her Foundations of Administrative Justice and Forensic Experiential Trauma Interviewing Certificates.
