Biography
Clint has extensive civil litigation experience and has provided legal counsel in many precedentsetting cases in the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
He has over 40 years experience in acting for First Nations Bands and has been involved in successfully negotiating significant settlements including the Indian Residential Schools Settlement and the Athabasca River Contamination Settlement. He is currently class counsel in the National Opioids Class Action on behalf of First Nations.
Since 1989 Clint has had considerable experience in the field of mediation, both representing parties and as a mediator. He regularly mediates commercial disputes throughout Western Canada. He has participated in over 200 mediation conferences,
the majority of these as mediator in relation to varied issues including: personal injury litigation; insurance litigation; commercial litigation; wills and estates; community disputes; oil and gas disputes; labour and employment disputes; and professional liability issues. He was appointed a Chartered Mediator by the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada, Inc. in 1999, the highest distinction recognized in the field. Clint is currently on the roster of ADR Chambers, a National ADR agency – a roster that includes a number of former Supreme Court of Canada and Trial Division Judges. He is also approved as mediator for the department of Municipal Affairs. He has taught multi-party mediation at Mount Royal University since 1990.
