Biography

I have been mediating for over 25 years (since 1999) and have been involved in family mediations as well as workplace mediations, neighborhood mediations, oil and gas mediations over the years on a full-time and part-time basis.

My family mediation experience includes a culturally diverse clientele in the areas of parent-teen, divorce and separation, common law and same sex couples separation, ethnic (multi-cultural) couples, ‘convenience marriage’ dissolution, child abandonment, criminal activity causing separation, mobility after separation (international relocation), mental health (i.e. depression) and medical issues (including palliative care and death of a parent), parenting for pets, religious implications of divorce, extremely high conflict couples, family group conference including grandparents involvement, short-term trial-separation, and reconciliation. In 25 years, more than half of my mediations have been workplace and family related. Most mediations were face-to-face, followed by online, shuttle and telephone mediations, and group conferences. I am also fluent in the German language.

I have concentrated on the area of workplace dispute resolution and have been a senior consultant for a a number of municipalities, designing and facilitating informal dispute resolution processes to complement legislation in the area of psychological workplace wellness. In the past I have facilitated task forces for contentious bylaw changes in municipalities and have been chosen to facilitate inter-municipal planning issues. I have been hired by legal counsel to mediate wrongful dismissal workplace cases as an alternative to Court of King’s Bench.
