More and more employers recognize the business case for diversity and inclusion and are actively encouraged to hire newcomers into their organizations. However, they often experience some challenges when recruiting and integrating immigrants into their workplaces such as language skills, foreign credentials and work experience. In this session, our diversity and inclusion expert, Zakeana Reid, will share with you some tools and knowledge you need to get your organization results.
About the Speaker
Zakeana Reid, CHRP is the Director, Western Canada for CCDI. During her career, Zakeana has had the opportunity to influence and design programs within Recruitment and Training to promote and encourage diversity within the companies as well as manage the Employment Equity Programs and Plans. Zakeana brings over 7 years of work experience in the areas of Equity and Diversity, from performing annual LEEP audits to analyzing data and finally creating programs for companies embracing diversity and inclusion. In 2011, she proudly received Morrison Hershfield’s honourable mention award for Best Workplace for Diversity, presented by Alberta Venture’s Alberta’s Best Workplaces.
